Mutley93 has been sold

on Saturday 15th April my d zero Mutley93 was sold to Ninian and will be sailed in the manchester area. an early start to get to Bala on time and pack the boat away and tie it down ready for the transfer. i made sure i had everything needed. after this i went over to Dogstar(Black Magic) To get her unwrapped. the cover was taken off after bailing all the water off the top, all the spars were removed and the heavy rudder, with the help of David Ansell we put the main mast up and the mizzen the rest of the baot was rigged whilst waiting for Ninian to arrive. when he did we handed over the correct stuff went for a tea and did the money transfer.a last farewell picture and Mutley93 was gone. back to Black Magic as i will be reverting the name, i fully rigged the baot and got a feel for what it was going to be like overall i am really happy as the baot was only boat on supplied photos. with help from Rob Hyde we got the gaff up no problem. the day was very sunny and warm but not a lot of wind. i am still waitng for my engine electric to put onboard and get the Lithuim phospater iron 100amph battery with all that it was time to pack away and put the rather tired cockpit cover. new one on order. plans are to rename the boat back to Black Magic former name and stickers still visable repaint the boat Black , get the bision 55 outboard ecoworthy 100amph battery do some re roping ie the jib sheets and shroud ropes. apart from that re do the teak oil gunwhales and centreboard wood , all are fine but it doesnt hurt.

This blog will change

when Mutley 93 has finaly sold this blog will then change to My adventures on Drascome Lugger Dogstar (Black Magic)

Mutley #93 prov sold

well alot has happened, on 3rd and 4th April we traveled to Stranrear to buy Dogstar (Black Magic) from Peter Barlow of New Luce

the trip was without hassle and we enjoyed the area and also Prtpatrick alot.

the long trip home took from 1045 till 1700 to Bala , the boat was just unhooked as i was very tired ,on leaving my headlights failed as i forgot to turn them off unplugging the light board.

later in the week i had a message after i had advertised Mutley93 from Ninnian that he was keen to buy the boat , after booking his towbar fitting we agreed to meet on the 8th April.  i set off early and got the boat mostly riged ready for him to see, i stupidly mislaid the outhaul rope whic i did find at homelater.

i also had a duty day to do for the Easter regatta so time was short.

Ninnian arrived and agreed to buy the boat and colection will be 15th April.

the boat was on the side of the lake on its road trailer, and little did i know of the bad wether Tuesday onward , in short i had to travell upto bala again easter monday 1300 to go move the boat and tie it down, Howrd Jones saw my message on whatsapp was kind and hauled it up the slope into the cat section.

we arrived not knowing and hunted the boat down  it threw it down cats and dogs and got soaked. the boat was tied down an straped to the trailer.

the rain eased off just as i got back into the car  typical.
